You will be part of a collaborative and growing team working on complex problems for a successful and long-running AWS service supporting an expanding customer base.

We'll trust you to design and implement critical high performance, large scale services and libraries in collaboration with other internal development teams to solve key business problems with minimal technical supervision. We'll be looking to you to evangelize SDLC best practices across the organization, help refine operational procedures and workflows, and influence architectural decisions to achieve our technical and business goals. Basic qualifications1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.2+ years of non-internship professional software development experienceProgramming experience with at least one software programming language.Preferred qualification Highly innovative, self-directed and able to deal well with ambiguous problemsStrong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels and across teamsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in developing distributed systems with an excellent understanding of scalability, performance and reliability considerations in modern architecturesExperience developing in SOAs using Java on Linux and one or more scripting languages such as PythonExperience working in an agile software development organizationDemonstrated ability to effectively drive cross-team solutions that may have complex dependenciesDemonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and software qualityMaster's degree in Computer Science with emphasis on distributed systems and/or Big Data architecturesAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
